Will those fearsome beasties reach the billion-dollar mark before they become extinct?

Jurassic World Dominion–the latest in a long line of Jurassic Park blockbusters–keeps thundering on. The Universal Studios mega-hit edged past the $900-million threshold this weekend, despite stiff competition from the God of Thunder and Tom Cruise.

Dominion became the third film this year to top $900 million in global box office receipts, with a staggering $902.5 million as a worldwide total. The film–which is now the biggest Hollywood title of the year in China–has helped boost the entire Jurassic Park franchise to an incredible $6 billion globally. Take a bow, T-Rex.

Dominion–available on-demand in the comfort of your home now–is directed by Colin Trevorrow from a screenplay he wrote with Emily Carmichael. The film–which stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard alongside Jurassic Park legacy legends Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum–is set four years after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom when dinosaurs try to co-exist with humans around the globe.
