May is Military Appreciation Month, and the Agape Care Group and the Seminole County American Legion Post 157 members have teamed up to support our troops.
Due to the recent increase in deployment, members of each group are now reaching out to the community to show our appreciation for their service by sending them items that may not be readily available to them in their deployed environment.
The drop site for the collected supplies will be at the Piggly Wiggly Marketplace in Donalsonville on Friday, May 27 between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Supplies needed include baby wipes, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, glide waxed dental floss, mixed nuts, flavored water mixes, hard (non-melting) candy/suckers, chewing gum, microwavable popcorn, small individual chip bags/ goldfish snack packs, instant grits, beef-jerkey (Slim Jims), and sunflower seeds.
If you have a family member or friend that is deployed and wish for a package to be shipped to them, contact Karen Rogerson at 229-400-0323 with the deployed troop’s name and address.
